Breakfast at Tiffany's

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. For one obvious reason, it's my birthday. But also because I love to dress up. In past years I've spent hours putting together creative outfits, for example gluing 100 peacock feathers together to make a tail, or creating a jelly fish skirt out of endless amounts of ribbon and glow sticks. But this year the holiday snuck up on my so quickly I didn't even have a moment to spend thinking up a costume. As soon as I read this Glitter Guide article, I knew a glamourous leading lady is exactly what I was meant to be. I love the sophisticated glamour of Audrey's look, and after wearing this glam costume for an evening this weekend, I felt like I wouldn't mind playing dress up like this everyday.

I already had this Topshop dress in my closet, so I only had to add a few signature Audrey touches like long gloves, jewels, a faux cigarette holder and of course, long lashes to complete her look. I used this sock bun hair accessory from H&M to secure a great high bun, and added a tiny tiara as the finishing touch.

Are you playing dress up this Halloween? I'd love to hear!

Tastefully Tangerine

{Topshop blazer / Coach ankle boots / 7 For All Mankind jeans / J&P clutch / Michael Kors watch}

I wrote about wanting a blazer like this many months ago, but was sad to find that the one I wanted to purchase was no longer available. But this summer when I walked into Topshop's London store, there was the very same jacket awaiting me. I knew I had to pick it up, and am so happy I did. It's much more fun to say that it's from London anyway, as opposed to just buying it online.

It's been fun getting dressed for work lately, and incorporating my personal style into my work outfits. The dress code is "tasteful casual" which is really how I would explain my own style too. The only problem with that is that of course now I need to go shopping!

Happy Thursday!

Ombre October

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was wonderful. I experienced my first "real" weekend as a 9-5 girl, and I have to say, it was quite nice. TGIF now has a whole new meaning! Of course the weekend flew by much too fast, but it was filled with great friends and a little bit of relaxation. I said good-bye to my restaurant job of many years, and am ready to go from serving mai tais to making media lists.

On another note, I'm currently loving ombre, especially in cozy fall styles like this shirt above. I picked it up on a recent trip to Target and although my outfit looks as if I could be going to a Fourth of July BBQ, it's also perfect for the sunny yet often chilly fall days. It can be dressed up for work or dressed down for a weekend trip to the pumpkin patch, which I hope is just what I'll be doing very soon!

Pumpkins & Cupcakes

This week and weekend were very full and exciting. I made a few trips to San Francisco, and am excited to say I'll be starting my new job today! My friend Laura and I were thrilled to meet our blogging idol, Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere on Saturday at her book signing. While we stood in line to meet her we were welcomed with a never-ending supply of cupcakes, chocolates and lollipops. It was so much fun! I also picked up one of my favorite fairy tale pumpkins and added a touch of glittery spray paint, which really made it feel like October. Now that it's officially halfway into the month, I'm ready to start getting in the mood for Halloween.

Leopard Love

I love spending hours looking through magazines and blogs and admiring the looks they've styled. Putting together outfits and seeing where I can go with fashion is so much fun, but I haven't incorporated much of my own style into the pictures I post. So I've created a series of fall looks to post throughout the month to show off my own fall style. The looks from my closet are complied of some older pieces and some new pieces, picked just for this season. I'm currently loving leopard and find it just the right accent to darker fall colors.

Today was the first day that officially felt like fall, and I have to say I'm getting excited for my favorite cozy season.

Interior Details

I've been loving interior design ideas lately, and have been especially inspired by simple whites, soft grays, subtle silver and salvaged wood. I love the simplicity of all of these elements with the feminine touch of something silver, and perhaps a pink peony or two. It's so important for your living space to be a place of inspiration and happiness, and that's exactly what I feel when looking at these images.
